I had fun learning how to make deodorant (lemon myrtle and sweet orange smell really nice together), not that I'll ever use it, I thought it would be good for my calming kit as a smelly thing.

And did my laundry and had an interesting discussion warning my barista of the dangers of Santa!

I hope you have a fantastic day no matter what you do. Sending well wishes and kind thoughts for those who may not celebrate Christmas or may not be feeling the best today. 

I’ve got an easy day planned - some knitting and watching TV- then I’m off to dinner in the Dandenong for Christmas dinner with my housemate and her family. I’m travelling by train for part of the way - thanks to now living in the country and have to get to the city - so I’m packing a bag with my knitting needles, iPhone power bank and cord and charger and a book with my earphones to handle the trip on the train. Luckily it’s free travel here in Victoria on the public transport system so I’ll only have to fund an Uber to the restaurant and back home again so I’m hoping the cost will be reasonable.

Tomorrow, it’s a cricket day for me with the Boxing Day test and then the Big Bash cricket later at night. After that, it’s roll on for the tennis season of summer which I’m really looking forward to.

I got a musical jewellery box with 4 paua shell bracelets so I can make 3 that are long enough, 2 butterfly ones like the one my mother gave me that was stolen earlier this year and 2 turtle ones to remind me of the giver. 

I have a mother-daughter type relationship with my inner child, how I wasn't treated as a child and being her mother is healing for me because of the children I've lost, it was like a daughters gift to her mum. 

I got her a unicorn window decoration handmade from resin that says "sweet love" and a book of letters for me to write to her that are prompted about what you would say to her.

She made me smile briefly, now partially listening to an audiobook

That sounds like a beautiful healing relationship, and your gifts sound amazing. I'm sorry about what you have gone through. Just know that you aren't alone and there's people here for you including me. Be gentle with yourself and keep smiling 🙂
