Finally got to sleep in the early hours of this morning @Faith-and-Hope @Snowie so got moving much later than I wanted to. Neither my parents were home so I dropped off the garden thing I fixed for my Mum and went to my sister's. She was not home either but turned up while I was there. I didn't stay long because my knee was starting to hurt and I needed to be able to drive home - so resting it now before I do a couple of things in the garage. I need to cut and join some timber then leave it to dry for a day or two - it won't take long to do and I think that will be it for me for today. I might even have a nice bubble bath, get my jammies on and snuggle on the couch with Tobes for the rest of the day before the tennis comes on tonight.
Hope you are enjoying making your item @Faith-and-Hope and getting some rest in there also.
@Snowie Do your kids go back this week?

Hope you are snuggling up on the couch with Tobes @Zoe7
The kids start back on Monday, so just getting things organised.

You will no doubt be sound asleep by now @Snowie (I very much hope so anyway 😘). I did what I needed to in the garage, got an early dinner and snuggled with Tobes ...and fell asleep - woke to another little fluffball sitting on top of me licking my face lol but just in time to watch the tennis 👍
Our kids don't go back until Wed week but we are back the Monday of that week - so one more week of holidays to go. I have soooo much still to do for school but if I can do a little each day I should be okay. It is more the organisation of the room I am concerned about but I cannot do anything about it so I am trying not to be too worried. It is going to be a very long first couple of days because I want everything done for the kids to begin their new year.
I hope your kids are excited to be back and everything goes okay for them 😁
@Faith-and-Hope Sending you some extra love tonight Hon. Hope you have had some good in your day 💖

I am pleased with it @Zoe7. A lot of things I make are “alternative” …. lol

haha @Faith-and-Hope ...that describes half of my wardrobe too lol I definitely have my own 'style' and am comfortable with that - a bit more conservative at work but it is in a very much 'alternative' area so fit in quite well.
It is a beautiful morning here - and have been up and getting things started already. I am hoping to do some gardening today but that will depend on how my knee holds up. Going to head off to a hardware store a bit of a distance away (not Bunnings - and yes I know it feels like I am betraying my favourite store lol). I have a voucher to use and this store is quite big and has a great range - hoping to get a hedge trimmer and some plants but with covid there is still a lot not in stock so will see what they have.
Any plans yourself for today?
@Snowie No doubt your kids will be getting a bit excited and/or anxious about starting back tomorrow - you have got things organised early for the, so that is great. Have a great day Hon and enjoy your alone time tomorrow 💖

I have a rent inspection coming up @Zoe7 so I am tidying a little more of the house every day in preparation. It’s a bit difficult because I d
hadn't finished moving everything I wanted / needed from my old place before Covid issues raised themselves again. Oh well …. A lifetime of working around issues has given me some chutzpah with that …. 😆
Apart from that I have set myself up with potential mini-projects in all directions, and crosswords, and other stuff to try to keep me occupied and focussed. Studies are around the corner too, so thinking a little more about that and trying to get better set up for it.

I used to clean frantically the night before an inspection @Faith-and-Hope ...which was not necessary because I kept the flat clean and tidy anyway. My agent used to occasionally cancel inspections as she didn't see the point coming to just see the same tidy and clean place ...those were the days when I did not have all my school stuff at home so it was much easier to keep things where they belonged. I find if my place is clean and tidy then my mind is a little more able to cope also.
It is getting quite warm here now so staying out of the heat until a bit later this afternoon then will head outside. I have slept most of the morning but managed to spray paint a couple of things for school - will do another coat in a couple of hours then leave them to dry until tomorrow. Then will begin varnishing the art trolley - have done a little of it but it will need a few coats so hoping to get that done over the next two days. I won't be able to take it into school until next week when the furniture is moved as there is nowhere to put it with everything else stacked as it is. I will have to come home one day after school, put it on the trailer and then take it in as it is too big to fit in the car.
