Are you anything like me and find it so hard to slow your mind down enough to sit still?
From brainteasers, to fidgets, to even jigsaw puzzles, what do you do to slow your mind down and help your deal with anxious situations? And what is your favourite fidget?
There has been some interest in my collection of brain teasers and fidgets and so it was about time we started a thread!

@avant-garde oh I'm in love with this thread 🩵. I have many different fidgets and brain-teasers. From metal ones like you've shared pictures of, ones where you have to get the balls in the right holes and then just ordinary fidgets that are squishy, click, spin etc. I will have to get some pictures of some of mine to share, thanks for starting this thread 🙂

@avant-garde I have a fidget box. I use different fidgets depending on what I need and what emotion I'm dealing with. I tend to have a bit of a collection of Needoh!
The stuff inside my fidget box...
I also have a fidget box for work, for myself and my students to use when we need to.
I have random fidgets in my car, and always carry one in my pocket. I have a six year old nephew with ADHD and he knows that I'll always have something for him to fidget with when he needs to.
I also like to ferociously to colour in when I'm triggered, and have recently started to embrace Lego which is helping me keep my hands busy of a night. I've brought a few puzzles, but haven't started one yet.
My class has been working on whole class jigsaw puzzles this term and have managed to finish two. They've helped me to manage my anxiety at work - but also, they tend to trigger hyper focus mode and for a teacher that's not a great state to be in during class time. I actually had the teacher assistant in my room say to me a couple of days ago while I was working on the puzzle, "just so you know, you're hyper focusing right now and I just want to warn you that very soon you'll have to move away from it to teach the class."

@avant-garde here's some of the brain-teasers that I have. The bottom right metal one is my favourite of the metal puzzles that I have, the bigger version of it is usually made out of horse shoes 🙂

These are the fidget toys I’ve recently bought, my favourite is the one on the right. Works on hour glass principle. Also online colour by numbers and different types of puzzles
