Re: Topic Tuesday// Life With NDIS// Tues 22nd June, 7-:8:30PM AEST

@bipolarbunny if you can get an OT or physio or psychologist to recommend an exercise physiologist and provide this recommendation to the NDIS, you will have more chance of getting this approved as part of your plan. it can be a bit hit and miss of course depending on your planner!!!! frustrating at times!!

Re: Topic Tuesday// Life With NDIS// Tues 22nd June, 7-:8:30PM AEST

That i believe would require capacity building funds and I beleive your functual capacity assessment would need to reflect the need fro the specialst  but if you have a support co ordinator they maybe able to find a support worker to assist you exercise @bipolarbunny

My biggest piece of advice...find someone who specialises in mental health, trained and knowledgeable. Ask them what skill set they have. What's their biggest achievement to date. I now have a support coordinator that specialises in my son's illness and I believe it will be the change needed to implement supports that will actually be of benefit.

Welcome @Anastasia and thank you for sharing this tip from your experience navigating the NDIS 🙂 I am so glad to hear that your son has a good support co-ordinator that you are both happy with and better understands his needs. Also holding hope with you that this change will support his wellbeing and mean he gets the support he deserves

Yer just an indication that I'll get refused.

I think I'll just go back to dads, I can get laughed at and bullied there too.
