@Former-Member, That is a really special and interesting photo. I can imagine that it would have been really lovely to watch the unfolding of the clouds with the moon over the ocean.

@Appleblossom, My mother's family is from New Zealand. Grandmother came from NZ to Boulder {now Kalgoorlie-Boulder}  with her husband, in early 1900s. What a contrast?? Rose petals {this was to remind me of rose petals, but I like it just the way it is.}

@Historylover, It's often the darker roses, like the dark red tea rose, that you described, that I enjoy. Interestingly, the rose, with that fantastic aroma which is at the front door of Residential, to which I refered in an earlier post, is a dark red colour.

@Clawde, So very pleased that you are enjoying this thread, the "Hangar". I can, very much understand the feeling of wanting to pack bags to go off for an adventure.

@TAB, Planes are relatively expensive to purchase, but it costs a lot, for mechanical and structural maintence and updating avionics {the gauges and flight information equipment}, to keep them flying. However, as distinct from cars and road transport, there is a huge range in purpose and purchase price, from quite inexpensive to mega-$Ms.

In relation to brickies labouring, the personal physical break-in is really hard, but I was before and never have been since, as fit as I was during that time. Who'd need a gym if you have that?

@Anastasia, I am so very pleased {that may be an understatement} that this thread has drawn as much interest as has been shown by many people. I have the feeling that it is a place where people can simply be themselves and also enjoy what is offered and received by and from each of the other self-included members, in their own way. I can honestly say that I am delighted!!

@Oaktree, I am still somewhat confused or bewildered about how we can have any sort of party, even more so, a fabulous and elegant party, in a digital environment?? I guess my digital education must have been seriously limited, since I still remain confused. However, as the saying goes, "Never too late to learn". In any case, I am certain that I will enjoy whatever is presented.

@Eve7, We interact, from time to time, on other threads and your observations are often supportive and generous. You also bring descriptions of your environment into your posts and comments, that are really enjoyable.

@Emelia8, As I view and sometimes interact on other threads, I always enjoy the way that you present ideas, in general and when offering suggestions and guidance for others, of which I have also been the recipient, Thank You.

@Sophia1, We have had discussions and enjoyed each others comments and observations. Thank you for the interactions that you and I have had. I know that we have very different styles of writing and that possibly enhances our interest and enjoyment of each others contributions.

@MDT, we have had some serious discussions. It is my most sincere hope that what I offer from my perspective is or will be of benefit for you. Sometimes, I can see aspects of myself in what you write about yourself, and even what you don't write {reading between the lines}. I do hope, that any comparison with myself, does not raise significant concerns for you.😃 However, whatever I contribute is intended and offered with my most sincere good wishes for you in the present and the future.

Thank You All for your activity on this thread. It is really a pleasure for me, as I hope it is also for each of you, to read the comments about your interests, thoughts, feelings and even aspirations, whether those may simply be dreams, or something specific, to which we can look forward with positive anticipation.

Brickies labouring or any laboring is a good way to hurt yourself due to time pressure, difficult sites, working while sick or injured etc. Anyhoo prob fittest I ever was through work was working on rail in Pilbara years after that, weighed a lot less, was a bit more in control of pace of work as had trade then, we lifted trolley and generators on and off truck few times a day and pushed them up and down the track from access points to job.

anyway after a couple months of that, one site was a fair distance from access point, I started running, hadnt ran in years, felt good , so I kept going and going ha ha so must have been doing cross training by stealth lol well walking on ballast might have helped as well lol

The US prices for planes are considerably less, @TAB . I think, probably because of the greater number available. Consequently, supply exceeds demand. There is also a far wider range of conditions and avionics upgrades. Because there are so many newer planes in the maket in USA, older planes age in price more quickly in the US than in Aus. So, unless your requirements are not for some specialised application, or specification, a plane of the type, condition and specification that you might want, would be likely to be in the present available market.

Here it is, I think, the other way round. You often have to really search and wait till a plane that meets your requirements and specification becomes available. This means that demand often exceeds supply which has a localised (national) upward effect on price. However, this all means that it is worth considering a plane in the US or even Europe, while factoring in the costs of ferrying to Australia, which in themselves, could be considerable. It would make a pleasant trip though, to pick it up and fly it back, as long as you could find safe landing and refuel locations within the range of tank capacity. Have to consider and be careful about whose airspace your flying through or around. Could make a considerable difference to the flight plan.

The difference in $ value also needs to be taken into account. A plane for $US100,000.00 , at the moment, would mean paying $AU134,000.00 at the current exchange rate. So the prices there can seem artificially lower.

I hear what your saying @TAB about the different types of heavy physical work and the effect that some jobs have on the body. I'd imagine that walking on ballast would have strengthened the muscles in the legs and feet used for balance. Because of compromised nerves, I have limited sensation in my feet and lower legs. That lack of feedback causes me difficulty with balance.

Yes, the sudden awareness that we have the capacity to do something that we have not been used to , like running, can be exhilarating. I like the expression, "cross training by stealth".

I love the culture and vibe here dear Henry and I am literally smiling from ear to ear that it has brought you joy. 

I think with @Oaktree 's creative mind a feast/party can definitely come together here if that's what you'd like?

Mingling is nice and it works not to have a "topic" of conversation and just let things flow as they do irl. 

I'm a little in the background as I have assessments and an NDIS plan review looming among work projects that I am very much accountable for. In saying that,  I'm here in spirit and grateful to be included. 

Keep the momentum going, this is one of my favourite places Henry, thank you 🥂👏✔️
