Understanding

I don't understand why others think it is important to love oneself I have never even liked myself instead I fully accept who I am.

Re: Understanding

@Rhymster that's a really interesting thought, and it's one i'll continue to reflect on too. i've always viewed acceptance as a form of self-love.

Re: Understanding

@rav3n it was a long journey to find acceptance including the paradoxical nature of my existence

Re: Understanding

is there anything in particular that helped you fully accept yourself? i feel like i'm still on my acceptance journey, i've made a lot of progress these last few years though 😊 @Rhymster

Re: Understanding

@rav3n always sticking to the vow I made to myself on my second birthday

Re: Understanding

oh wow, would you be comfortable sharing a bit more about the vow here? no pressure if you don't want to! @Rhymster

Re: Understanding

@rav3n to be the complete opposite of my father and to always speak truth

Re: Understanding

@Rhymster that's such a big vow to make at such a young age. i can see how honesty can help with acceptance - and i'm proud of you for continuing to speak your truth. i imagine your younger self is proud of you for continuing to uphold your vow 💙

Re: Understanding

@rav3n at four I had six months of hell because I refused to lie and never buckled

Re: Understanding

@Rhymster that's awful that you were treated that way. especially at such a young age, i imagine it would've been really hard and confusing to understand why you were being punished for being honest.
